About Moonbird Creations

I am an Aboriginal woman from the Moonbird People of Lutruwita (Tasmania) and a direct descendant of Aboriginal Leader Mannalargenna.

Although raised in my community on the North and Northwest Coast of Lutruwita I have lived on the land of the Wurundjeri People in Victoria, Australia for the last 29 years.
The Wurundjeri People have not just allowed me to raise my three children on their country, they have nurtured, protected and provided us with a space to feel safe and protected.

I pay my respects to the Wurundjeri People, their elders both past and present and thank them for allowing us to not just live on their country but also providing me with opportunities to work and undertake cultural practices whilst adhering to the cultural protocols of my ancestors.
I’m so happy to share my jewellery creations with you which are all handmade by myself. I like to ethically source my products, particularly, quandong and sandal wood seeds so that they are ground harvested and not pulled off trees. I am also fortunate enough to have community friends as well as family collecting the Australian Native birds, such as yellow crested Cockatoo, Crimson Rosella, Kookaburra (hard to get
these), Magpies and Crows. I’m also given feathers from water birds and peacocks.
I have been creating jewellery with Asian pheasant feathers and am excited to share these items with you on this site.
I enjoy providing a diverse selection of jewellery from bracelets, feathered earrings, sets of earrings and necklace and a range of earrings that don’t contain feathers but don’t stress if you can’t find something you like, why not contact me directly, we can have a yarn (talk) and work out what you would like me to make for you. I also like to provide jewellery with realistic prices so that even those with a limited budget

you can still purchase my items.
I would like to encourage you to join my business as a member to receive advance notice of new jewellery and specials for members only.

Thank you for supporting my 100% Aboriginal owned business!

Regards,
